Savage Girls dominated the Fitness Atlantic last week with wins in multiple divisions, including a fitness sweep, figure tall and medium, Model, Male Model and a bikini sweep.
Seanna Metzger (left) and Tara Merrow (right) both were successful as Seanna captured the Bikini Tall and Classic class and Tara placed 2nd in her first Fitness America Figure show, taking the second slot to Savage Girl Lori Harder who placed first. Tara also competed successfully in Bikini. "I love Figure in this federation as they want muscle but they want you to be feminine". Look for a full gallery of pictures from the show coming soon including Kelly Schrek who won the Bikini overall and incredibly tense fitness division, with 34 athletes vying for the title! We will be posting pictures of Kelly's amazing performance soon! Watch for our Men's champ Jimmy Ibbison was well as he took home to trophy for male model. Savage girl Lori Harder is causing quite a stir in the fitness modeling industry! In her first photo shoot, Lori's images caught the attention of many industry leaders and within days, Lori was contacted by Silver Models. In addition to her rising modeling career, Lori is currently preparing for the Fitness Atlantic. She wowed the crowd in Hollywood last year in her 2nd show ever, by placing 3rd in bikini and 4th in figure. As a Savage Ambassador, Lori is available for posing appointments in the Minnesota area. I expect great things from this rising star! Remember her name!

The Savage Model Seminar took place this past weekend and aspiring models from all over the country were treated to the "real deal" about this ever growing industry.. This was the third CSF seminar of the year that was solely directed toward the fitness modeling industry. Special guests included photographer Gordon Smith with national judge, former competitor and Oxygen contributor Diane McCabe Smith. Gordon's down to earth advice on posing and finding the right look, to safety concerns was well received by the captive audience. Diane spoke of what she looks for as a judge as well as a writer and industry expert. Her information and advice was priceless. A special thanks to Super Fitness model Lindsay Messina who just returned from her cover shoot for Muscle and Fitness (you can currently see Lindsay in an 8 page spread in M&F Hers) as well as Shape and Fitness Magazine model Rachel Delacalzada. Lindsay and Rachel shared their rise to the top and how they broke into the industry. Along with Bikini America World champion (short class) and director of our modeling agency, Janelle Nicolo, Lindsay and Rachel demonstrated how to pose for both photo shoots and competitions. Our next two day Model Weekend will talk place in the late Summer/early Fall.

Savage Sister, Shana Martin

Savage Girl Shana Martin was just cast as a MADE coach for an upcoming television show about a young girl who wants to be MADE into a cheerleader. This is the third time in three years that members of the Savage crew have been featured on MTV. (Cathy on True Life: I Want the Perfect Body II and Alicia on SuperMADE)
Shana is quite busy these days preparing for her upcoming season, participating in her championship log rolling events and being an official spokesperson for Huntington's Disease. Stay tuned for information on when Shana's MTV show will debut.

Savage sister Megan Hoffman will grace the cover of next month's Oxygen Magazine. Shortly after the Fitness America Hollywood show, Megan flew to Toronto for her photo shoot. Over the past year, Megan has appeared in television commercials, the Conan O'Brien show, Nike and New Balance print ads, layouts in Shape and Fitness Magazine and much more including the cover of Womens Health magazine. Megan says, "I have been so lucky to have been successful in modeling for so many great products and wonderful publications but to be on the cover of Oxygen Magazine is something I have dreamed about. Competing in the best shows with the most exposure and having a great support team reminds me that anything is possible!" Savage Girl Lisa Mueller has had quite a dramatic six months. Shortly after competing in the 2007 Fitness America World Championships, she found a lump on her neck which turned out to be a 15cm tumor in her chest. Lisa was diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease, a form of cancer, and began chemotherapy shortly thereafter. Throughout the course of her treatment, Lisa has been strong, empowered and hopeful. Her positive attitude is her best defense. She is determined to fight and be back on a fitness stage soon! Lisa will be joining me as a special staff member at our upcoming Chicago camp. Savage Girl Janelle Nicolo is leading our model division into an exciting new phase. Not only is Janelle the reigning Ms Bikini America World Champion (short division), but her career in public relations has given her vast experience in marketing, promotion and advertising.
